Nodaway County Health Department Administrator, Tom Patterson, announces two Nodaway County, Missouri residents have tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) today.  This will make seven positive COVID-19 cases for Nodaway County.

The affected individuals live in the same household, and are isolated at a private residence.  If you have not been contacted by the health department, then you are not considered a close contact and not at risk.

The health department urges the public to practice social distancing by maintaining six (6) feet of separation, to limit in-person interactions, and to practice good handwashing and hygiene.  Please avoid touching your face.  Please clean phones, devices, and contact surfaces frequently.

If you are sick, particularly with a fever and a cough, or shortness of breath, please call your health care provider before visiting for guidance regarding symptoms and next steps.

Nodaway County Health Department Administrator, Tom Patterson, announces a fifth Nodaway County, Missouri resident has tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).

The affected individual is a male between 60-69 years of age, and a resident of Nodaway County.  The individual is isolated at a private residence.  If you have not been contacted by the health department, then you are not considered a close contact and not at risk.

The health department urges the public to practice social distancing by maintaining six (6) feet of separation, to limit in-person interactions, and to practice good handwashing and hygiene.  Please avoid touching your face.  Please clean phones, devices, and contact surfaces frequently.

Nodaway County Health Department Administrator, Tom Patterson, announces that all 98 individuals that participated in the Nodaway County Community Testing Clinic on April 28th, 2020 have tested negative for COVID-19.

Nodaway County Health Department would like to extend their appreciation to all those who chose to participate in the Community Testing Clinic.  Our testing site was part of a wider testing effort by the State of Missouri to provide improved surveillance data.

Nodaway County Health Department would also like to thank the following partner agencies that helped to facilitate our Community Testing Clinic:  Lesley Schulte-Regional Planner, Christy Forney-Nodaway County Emergency Management Director, MOSAIC Medical Center-Maryville, Community Hospital-Fairfax, Maryville High School, Missouri National Guard, Tri-County Health Department, Holt County Health Department, NWMSU Police, and Maryville Public Safety.

The affected individual is a female between 90-99 years of age, and a resident of Nodaway County.  The individual is isolated at a private residence. If you have not been contacted by the health department, then you are not considered a close contact and not at risk.

COVID-19 Testing

April 28, 2020

The Nodaway County Health Department in collaboration with MOSAIC Medical Center-Maryville will be providing adult COVID-19 testing for 200 residents on  April 28th, 2020. Symptoms will not be required to get a test. The testing will involve using a swab to take a sample from inside the nose and can be uncomfortable.

Testing will be completed for the first 200 residents who preregister here. Preregistration is required to get tested. Location and time will be provided at completion of registration. Test participants will be asked to isolate until results come back, approximately two days. This is active COVID-19 testing and not antibody testing.
